Niche Marketing – Are You Making This Deadly Mistake? by Glen Hooke

Surefire advice and tips that will help you avoid these costly mistakes

Building a successful online business is all about careful organization, finding the proper niche market, and putting all one’s effort to make the business a success. A lot of online marketers get too excited that they end up picking the wrong market because of a friend’s success in a niche or rumors.

The foundational level is very important and niche marketing is all about building a successful business empire. Take it or leave it, if you fail in niche marketing, there’s no hope your business will survive.

I care about your business and I don’t want you to make costly mistakes in niche marketing, that’s why I piled up useful insights and tips you should take into consideration before choosing a niche market.

There are so many things I want to begin with but I’ll try my best to keep it short and detailed. Before I go into the main ” power gear” in this article, I think you should know this.

Although there are so lots of information on the web about this subject, it’s also very important you know the ”nitty gritty” so you don’t make costly mistakes.

Just because an online partner is succeeding by choosing a niche market doesn’t mean you will succeed. Never base your decision of picking a niche market because of a friend or partner, center your decision on passion and careful constructed tips I’ll be sharing with you in this content.

We’ll also be discussing these mistakes and how to best avoid them.

1. Not researching the niche market.

The most costly mistake you should avoid is not researching properly the niche markets.

OK, how will you make money or succeed if you don’t really know the market you’re establishing your business in? I mean, it’s really insane.

Help tip: begin with proper research. I mean, searching for what people are looking for in the search engines. ( Why would you waste your time searching for keywords that people aren’t going to search for?). This is very important ( Please keep it at the back of your mind).

Another thing I advise you do is to target buying keyword. ”Buyer keywords” are filled with desperate people who are willing to get solutions to their challenges ( they’re willing to spend any amount to get out of the state they’re in). Won’t it be fun if you can offer them the solution and make more cash doing so?).

Let me give you an insight

The ”lose weight” niche (although very competitive, there’s still a better chance you’ll make more cash if you know what you’re doing).

You can browse through Yahoo answers to check through questions people are asking for in your niche market (this will help improve your keyword research and will make it more effective and productive).

2. Stocking yourself–choosing a niche you don’t really know about.

Don’t make the mistake of choosing a niche solely because of the traffic, instead look at the niche with the potential for expansion. Pick a niche that allows you to churn out lots of great content in a matter of hours. This is very important if you really want to woo ”mother Google”.

For example, if you wish to build a niche site on how to get rid of acne, you can choose keywords like how to get rid of acne effectively, how to reduce acne scars, how to cure back acne, how to cure acne naturally and much more… Did you see the keyword variations? It will give you the opportunity to expand your niche market anytime ( Which is really juicy to the search engines).

A helpful tip: never and don’t think of building a niche site that doesn’t have keyword variations ( very risky, it shuts the ”door of expansion”).

So many people believe that there are advantages in picking a niche market that’s small ( there’s a belief that there’s less competition in this market). I’m not advising you shouldn’t pick a small niche market, instead don’t pick a niche market that’s too small. These days, small businesses easily run out of customers or prospects to sell to ( Believe me).

Help tip: choose a market that’s very big to test your services.

3. Choosing a niche you’re not passionate about

Passion is the secret to any successful niche market. It’s very important you choose something you’re passionate about. Being passionate about it drives you to go the extra-mile to deliver your best. Pick a niche you’re passionate in and be very hard working. With time, your efforts will pay off.

If you don’t have the passion or you don’t believe in the niche you’re in, it will reflect in your content, the design of your blog, and your readers will sense your fears ( they’ll turn back, and will see you as someone who has no confidence). Being passionate about a niche market gives you the inner drive to deliver your best.

Help tip: pick a niche you’re passionate about, and with time, the cash will follow ( Trust me, I’m a testament to that).

4. Depending only on ”mother Google” ( Keyword research).

Never depend solely on keyword research. I recently found out that people depend on software programs instead of crafting out their personal marketing program. This is very important if you want to speed fast your business. You should only use keyword research as a powerful tool of marketing.

Over to you– your decision

So that you don’t make costly niche marketing mistakes, ensure you put into consideration the above killer tips ( they’ll make it easier for you to pick a niche that will make you more money, build a balanced online career, and makes you feel real good about business). Don’t you want that kind of life? I bet you do…

Few Proven Strategies to Finding a Niche Market by Alex Zeiss

You are probably struggling with finding what to write about or what kind of a niche market to get into! So here are some strategies to finding a niche market. Very easy to do:

First off, you just need to know what is the “market of people” who are going to buy the products. So instead of going with digital hear we will go with physical products as most people understand it a lot better, so lets begin!

Car Seat? Who is going to buy that product? Parents or grandparents, but mainly parents.

Golf Ball? Who will be buying the product? Golfers!

Foreclosed Property? Most likely the Real Estate Investor!

But you see, this is actually a harder strategy to finding a niche market, it is a lot easier to start with the niche of people and look at their issues! Now, if we turn the tables, all you really have to do is spend a little time in the niche related forum and you will come up with at least 10-20 problem areas. Let me tell you, the real estate investor, wants to find cheap property, they want to find the financing, they want to buy 10-20 properties, they want to know how to “flip” the property for quicker income! And you learn all of this by simply spending some time with them!

While you are spending time with them! Pay close attention to the threads that have really been commented on a lot. Here you can probably find a lot of details on the issues and this will help you write a really great content as well!

One more method in finding the niche market is to pay close attention to the local news as well as the local newspaper. In there, you will find a lot of very profitable niche markets, and you really will not have to do too much of research as they will already do it for you!

If you would like to see a detailed tutorial (for free) as Niche Marketing Camp is giving away a complete set up, 19 pgs long, on the niche research, and technical part of setting it up.

Niche Marketing: Where Is It? by Oze Parrot

The principles of Niche Marketing are based on sound business practices that have been studied and tested in past years by some of the world’s most successful marketers.

I intend to set out for you the knowledge and tools that you will need to determine niche product ideas, study them, select a suitable product, develop the product, profit from the marketing of the product and then duplicate your success in another niche product.

What is a niche market?

A niche market is a group of people that have a need for a certain product that is not popular amongst the majority of consumers but whose demand warrants a continuous, substantial supply of the said particular product.

To put it simply, it is like selling golfing requisites.

Let’s say that all the products that you sell are golfers needs, golf clubs, golf balls and accessories.
The only people who buy your goods are the ones that play golf.

Then it follows that golfers are your niche market.

Should you choose to expand your product list and market other articles to a broader market then certainly you may attract new customers however your marketing competitors will increase substantially.

Niche Marketing is most beneficial to the small business owner as, generally, he does not have the resources to cater for the masses and, more importantly, the larger corporations tend to ignore the niche markets.

The larger corporations overlook the niche markets because they are not concerned with making an extra $5,000 to $10,000 a month, they are looking at turning over millions of dollars per month from a huge market place.

To attract customers to a particular niche market you will have to satisfy a few requirements.

Can people readily define your product and realize the benefits?

Where are the customers?

Do they select a particular advertising medium?
Are they members of a certain club or organization?
What are their online habits?

Can you make a make a profit from this market and is there a limited amount of competition?

Are there enough product consumers available to sustain your business

Does the market have enough disposable income to purchase your product?

Are there any other sites selling similar products to this market?

Are these sites popular?

Is this market group passionate about the product.

Is it a hobby that controls their lifestyle?

You must look for a product that will enthrall people so much that they must obtain all the information that pertains to their chosen endeavor.

Musicians, for instance, must have instruments and accessories, sheet music, song words, sound equipment, speakers amplifiers, microphones . . . it goes on.

Knowing What Niche Market to Choose by TJ Philpott

Selecting a niche market for your blog is the most important component as to how successful your blog will be. Both time and effort should be invested here to insure your future efforts will not be in vain. The trick here is to find a market segment that is both profitable and a good choice for you.

In selecting your niche you’ll want to focus on a subject or interest in which you have much enthusiasm. It can also be an area where you may not have the expertise but you do have the passion t learn about it. The logic here is since you’ll be spending so much time on this subject with your research and posting that it’ll be much easier if you truly enjoy what you’re doing.

Ultimately your passion, interest, or expertise on the niche market you select will present you as an authority to readers.

Once we’ve narrowed down a short list of those niches we may want to pursue, our next step is to determine how profitable the market may be. This is crucial!

Using the tools we find online we can conduct keyword research within the markets we’re considering. During this particular stage of our market research pay attention to the search results you may get when you key in the popular keywords for the niche you’re looking at. You will be amazed at how many new ideas can be presented to you that you didn’t considered previously thus setting off entirely new searches for you within that niche.

Keyword research also allows you to see how much competition you’ll be facing within a particular niche. You don’t want to enter a niche that’s overly crowded being your marketing efforts will be greater than your rewards. The number of search results that come up when you search on particular keywords indicates how congested that market segment may be. You’ll want to ‘strike a balance’ here by pinpointing a target market that does in fact show a good demand but is not overly crowded.

To more deeply define our niche and further distance ourselves from fierce competition we can use longer keyword phrases. For example if we were looking for real estate to purchase we could type in ‘houses for sale’ and see what comes up. If however we wanted to further define our search we could type in ‘houses for sale in Chicago’ which would limit our search to this area. Using longer phrases, referred to as long tail keyword phrases, would more clearly define or pinpoint our market research. This will also help assure us of sizable demand within the target market without it being overly saturated with competition.

Selecting a niche market for your blog should be done with great care. The niche you eventually choose should be both profitable and enjoyable for you. The enthusiasm you maintain will reflect in your posting which in turn will be viewed by your readers. If you lose interest in your subject it will show both in the quality of your content and the readers you lose, so choose your niche wisely.

Top 5 Factors to Consider When Choosing a Niche Market by Derrick CK Lee

Niche Marketing is not just one of the most popular trends in today’s online marketplace, it is essentially one of the most important aspect of all profitable online businesses. If you can find a profitable niche, you can really exploit the possibilities and make heaps of money online. While this might seem obvious, it’s not always that easy to find the correct niche market to enter. In fact, it takes a lot of niche market research and some common sense to get things right. Read on to find out how to choose a niche market that works for you.

Let’s start off by taking a look at the top five things you should consider when choosing a suitable niche market to select.

1. What is the common thread between users of this market? Do they have a common concern that spans across everyone in this particular target market? Luckily, this can be easily determined with a bit of basic niche market research. Just by doing a search on the major search engines like Google or going through the related forums via Big-Boards, you should be able to determine what are the “dying” needs of your target niche relatively easily.

2. Does this market really want a solution to their problem? Unfortunately, this isn’t always easy to determine and you kind of have to use common sense on your part to figure this one out. The problem may exists, but if a solution to their problem doesn’t seem like something people would spend money on, then stay away. However, if enough people are actively searching for a valid solution and are willing to spend real money to fix their problem, then perhaps you’ve got a winner on your hands. Figuring out whether your niche market has any real potential boils down solely to this factor.

3. Can you figure out a solution to their problem with a practical means of distributing a product or service? Even if you have the “perfect” solution to the problem your niche market is facing, how are your potential customers going to get their hands on it? A popular method of online product dissemination and distribution is through the use of an e-book. Although e-books are vastly popular, e-books may not always be the best option for certain niches like the fitness industry. If your solution can’t properly be portrayed with words, consider other means available, perhap using audio / video capabilities instead? There are a lot of different ways to rely information online and you need to determine the best method before you get involved.

4. Does someone already have a product out there that solves your target market’s needs? Again, this can also be determined by a little niche market research. Check out popular affiliate networks like Clickbank and Commission Junction to see if they have already have a product that can solve your niche market’s problem. If you are able to find one, that’s great. You can become an affiliate of that product immediately and start generating sales. In the event if you can’t find a product that adequately solves your target market’s problem, you can always create one yourself. Although it may require a little more time and work, but ultimately it can be more profitable. At the end of the day, you’ll have the full rights to the product and truly benefit from it in the long run.

5. The last thing that you need to figure out is whether the niche market is overly competitive. The question here is whether you can enter this niche market and be successful in it. This is definitely one of the most critical factors on how to find a niche market that will make you money. If there are already thousands or millions of affiliates and varying solutions for this niche market, then you need to stay away from it. Chances are you’ll be spinning your wheels and losing money trying to promote this product. Focus only on selective markets that are sure winners and not on target markets that may only have a 50/50 chance of success.

You definitely don’t want to get into the highly-competitive markets that will take a lot of time and energy just to made a small profit. With these five factors in mind, you should now know how to find a suitable niche market and succeed with it.

Lastly, in my opinion, niche marketing is a skill every internet marketer needs to learn in order to be successful online. Coupled with hard work and the drive to succeed, the opportunities for online success are truly endless.
